which seems to be a delicious work of 'decadent' art, circa 1900?

a pity #7 is small, there are lots of intriguing details,
and it would be good to read the text.

Here's my shot at #8:
'That God would never do anything good for me in this life,
but that I should live and die enveloped in all the misfortunes
that God can inflict on his poor creatures.
Nor can I find anyone to have compassion on me,
but everyone shouts ' let her die, let her die, that infamous creature!'​

Looking closely, I think the Torturer's winding the winch the wrong way?​
Maybe he is loosing the rope to give her a little break, then he will start to tighten it again. He may be playing with her mind during the torture:devil:
