Disney World has sanitized the Pirates of the Caribbean ride once again. A few years ago, they eliminated comically drunken pirates - can't have the kiddies thinking it's fun to drink - and added Johnny Depps Captain Jack character in several places, including one of the drunken pirates who rises from a barrel of rum.

Recently, political correctness struck again. The ride had featured a "brides auction" with bound women be lead to the auction block.

This has been replaced with a scene of townspeople being forced to bring their valuable to be auctioned.
Which makes no sense. Pirates wouldn't make people sell their valuables; they would just take them at swords point.
There may have been one improvement, though. The original featured a character the creators nicknamed "Red", a saucy winch who seems to be eager to be sold.

She has been replaced by a female pirate, named "Redd". The new Redd could be a shipmate of our own Pirat Messaline.

All the dresses are cut unrealistically high. Still, I’m nostalgic for the place. No enough to drop 260 to go, but I miss it.
