Tannoy is a speaker system brand name that has now become a generic term.
Matt (usually spelled matte) is a type of paint

And, to be fair, I have had generally good experiences with Home Depot associates.
I just felt that the name was more recognizable than Lowe's.

Here in Oz Lowes is a chain of (mostly) men's clothing stores, famous for ads featuring both playing and retired footballers (they sell big men's sizes, among other things)
