There were lawn darts once. I had a set. You put a ring on the grass, and then you stand back about 20 meters and lob the darts into the ring for points. Thing is, you coukd also throw them pretty high into the air and they would come down rather fast and stick into the ground (or anytbing else they hit along the way). They were taken off the market because of the possibility of this sort of thing happening. Not sure anyone ever really got killed by them, but the possibility certainly existed.

Thousands were injured

1988, the CPSC reinstated the outright ban on lawn darts in the USA.[3] In the previous eight years, 6,100 people had been sent to the emergency room due to lawn darts in the USA
In Canada, lawn darts resulted in at least 55 serious injuries

And look on e-bay or Craig's list and be amazed what a set in good condition go for. It's easier to guns than a set of 'Jarts' (the big brand name):confused::eek::doh:
