Sure it really is depending very much what your fantasies are, and if the gap between what is feasible and what you dream is getting too big, it will seem artificial.
It's also an art by itself to set such roleplay up in a way that is preventing too much artificiality, even if fantasy and reality are closer...

The problem with that kind of staging imho: It is getting too much "play and fake".
Nice for a "foto-set" but nothing imho to get the slavegirl in a state of excitement.
Why?
The nail might trigger some fantasy... but you'll immediately kill it again when doing a faked nailing. You are "bringing her back to reality immediately.
So it is better to do what can be done (ropes) and to play around what really is open (she being exposed, defenseless, hanging there for the duration that she can't control any more, etc.)

I think the explanation is as clear as I possibly can make it. You were answering from a "Dom" perspective but I was looking at it from a "Sub" perspective and questioned if such staged play can really be exciting as a"seamless play".

Sure it can be repeated, but it will stay "unexciting" (because "artificial/ staged"), that was my point.

About just under 60% replied "Yes."

I decline to start another survey. I give let to anyone who wishes to to so.

Wish I had something to add. But crux art has dried up, lately.
 
I hope that ascanio, modesto and others don't get the impression that their work isn't worth a comment because people pay good money to places like deviantart for similar manipulations. Here's a few more that may have been overlooked.
