1st : already answered ;)
2nd : End : I could say "she dies on the cross after a moment" BUT it's in hell : impossible to die there ! so ... I let people imagine what they want and you can imagine and write the story you feel .

Time to continue :

(Next, you'll see a little more of the hell's environment: mainly rocks and red light)

Did one demon get told off by the other demon for stroking her breasts?

Dear me. :(

What's the point of being a demon?

Developing databases is one of my many and varied skills. :)

Here's the denoised Cowgirl soundtrack that goes with the index I posted earlier. As the index shows, the screams all occur between 5:00 -7:00 minutes in, which is about where she's tortured with electricity.

I have a lot more sounds , such as about 15 different hammer sounds, the sound of the cross dropping into its hole from The Passion of the Christ, labored/panicked breathing sounds, crowd noises, scourging and nailing from The Passion of the Christ. If you need a particular sound, ask, I might have it.

Thank you Jedakk i saved the 2 files in my "Crux" sound file folder.
Thank you for your offer for the different sound files,i will let you know when i need them.

I prefer for now to keep the sound track as simple as possible i'm afraid to ruin it if it become too complicated.

By default AviUtl save the avi as uncompressed video, you must choose a compression codec such as Xvid
Or you can use another tool such as XMedia Recode (freeware)http://www.videohelp.com/software/XMedia-Recode
to compressed the final movie,i like to keep an uncompressed version of my projects until they are final as each compression are cumulative reducing the quality of the video each time you edit it and save it.
Many thanks, hornet1ba!

This is more than the application of skill to the animation process. Bartnel has added insight and imagination to that skill. There are scenes within this crucifixion that are completely novel and unique to this story - the interplay between the girl and her tormentors, and between the demons. This is a testament to an exceptional talent, Bartnel!

Very well done.

Thx a lot

it really is amazing to me that you made these gifs frame by frame
No I did'nt made them frame by frame : original files were .avi and I found a very good soft to convert them as gifs : Virtualdub.

Time to rise the cross !

Yes, but you had to make those AVI files essentially frame-by-frame, or at least keyframe by keyframe. In my animation efforts I found that I had to go frame by frame to correct the hands and feet that kept moving away from the nails. I had thought to try changing the IK targets to the nail locations to prevent that, but never did. I don't generally use IK because it tends to put twists in joints where I don't want them.

You did a good job of managing the demons' motions so we get the impression that they are there pushing the cross up during the entire clip, even though we only see them do that for a few seconds when the camera pulls back. For those seconds you'd have needed to keep their hands close to the cross to give the impression that they were following its upward motion, but then in the close-ups where their hands weren't in the frame you could fake it some. Keeping figures and object that are in motion together is another challenge!

This animation is very dramatic! I'd love to see the cross actually drop into the hole and come to rest at the end of this sequence though; it feels like we are almost there but don't quite arrive.

With each of the new files, you think that this cannot possibly get any better, and then it does. I cannot thank you enough for the work you have done for this community. At this point I'm going to become very selfish and say I hope your fantastic work continues in the future. BRAVO AND THANK YOU!!!

..and I am very impressed!!!!
I'm someone who normally gets more pleasure in a fertile imagination reading a story than in a still picture. But these moving images add a whole new dimension for me.
I would not have guessed (though obvious in hindsight) that the condemmed would be thrown around so much as the cross was raised.
And at a time when the mind is still bewildered by the fact that the extremities can't move; all the instinctive motions of the limbs that the sub-conscious wants to do are blocked, so messages to the conscious must be overwhelming.

Good point about the instinctive motions being blocked. I think a victim would try to grasp at something to hold on to, but there are a nails through their wrists and they are fixed in place, immovable. Being raised on a cross like that would likely be terrifying in itself.

I don't know that victims would be thrown around like that in reality. It could be tricky raising a tall cross with all of that weight near the top anyway. If they weren't careful, it could easily end up going wrong.

But do we care???

No, no ! In fact, I actually DID use IK for the hands and feet as they were nailed ! ... and certainly not doing it frame by frame ... it would have been a lot too long to do !

I first made roughly the pose of the body without IK. Then I applied IK and fine tuned the pose.
As the limbs were blocked by nails, I simply moved & rotated carefully the other parts of the body (mainly chest, abdomen & hip) to avoid too jerky motion. The idea is to alternate linear and spline keyframes to minimise amplification of motion.
I often had one keyframe every 5, 10 or even 30 frames (depending on the speed of the motion).
In fact, keeping the wrists and feet at the same place on the cross is the easiest to do !
A lot easier than having the demon's hand driving the girl's wrist at the required place ...

At the beginning, I made the same mistake than a lot of people here and the motion was far too slow. Finally I realized that a lot of motion can occur in 1 second (25 or 30 frames) !

Don't be mistaken : a lot of errors and problems were still there at the end of the work, but I simply made them invisible ;)

...and I had to solve specific problems : for example, how can you have a nail in the demon's hand (parented to the hand), and then stay on the cross (and through the poors girl's wrist) and penetrate the crosses wood as the hammer hits the head ?
... and those blood splashes as the hammer hits ? ... illusion, only illusion ;) ;) ;)
