Raiden,Toryu,Zero,Hayabusa,Hayate,Shiden
Hein,Hanbaku,Reppu,Okha,Kamikaze......etc etc.
All familiar names to WW2 Japanese plane-spotters. ;) ;)

Raiden = Thunderbolt
Toryu = Dragon Slayer
Hayabusa = Peregrine Falcon
Hayate = Gale
Shiden = Violet Lightning
Hein = Flying Swallow
Reppu = Strong Gale
Ohka = Cherry Blossom
Kamikaze = Devine Wind (not a type of plane, but a type of pilot)
The Zero got its name from it designation as Type Zero (Rei-Sen), from the last digit of the year it entered service: the Imperial year 2600. It was the only plane referred to by Americans using its Japanese designation.
 
I remember those big Japanese bombers named Betty. (Reading about them, that is...not running for cover from them.) :)
"One shot cigar-lighters"....no armoured self-sealing fuel tanks. Also the doomed transport of Admiral Yamamoto.

The characters tattooed on her back says "slave of the Cui family of Boling County," one of the most prominent noble/gentry clans during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.) in China. The Chinese girl, of course, is wearing a dress from that era.

Speaking of a cross...I guess that board can be easily turned into a crossbar for a different scenario. :sisi1
