I forget the name of the series, but this is Robert Hardy and a very fetching Cyd Hayman ,probably from the 60s or 70s.The original broadcasts were in black and white.

On reflection it strikes me that Ms. Hayman bears a more than passing resemblance to Barb`s self description.
