Thanks for your comments. I strive for two things fundamentally: 1) that the scene, as you say, looks real; but also, 2) that it suggests an unfolding story. An attempt to extract action from a static picture. I don't know if I succeed all of the time. But then again, the losses and the gains alternate and more or less even out on the long run.
 
Venice, the Most Serene Republic, was renowned for her Bizantine conspiracies. So, I have recently binged on that characteristic of the city on the lagoon. Nothing that really happened, just an opportunity to fantasize on some erotic cruelty. . . These are fantastic! Love the historical setting! Venice is an excellent choice for such fictional intrigues!
