First attempt!
The results are not so bad, this is probably a case where less is better....
#2 works well for me - yes, I expect to be whipped
and wear whip-weals on the cross, but no, I don't need to be
carpeted with them - and in the composition of #2,
the red streaks work well with the scarlet and gold of the tent,
offsetting the pale girlskin, and contrasting with the rough grey harshness
of the cross and the rocks - a vivid scene!

And I also like the bruises. Unless she's a noble sacrifice like Tree suggests, I can't imagine a prisoner in the sort of pre-crux scenarios we depict escaping without at least rough handling, more likely a bit of hitting with fists or sticks to make her completely compliant.

I don't think we see enough bruises, we concentrate a lot on whip marks.

But congratulations to all the artists who produce such amazing work.

Great pics. Actually, with the whip marks, it looks more natural and realistic.
Did you consider adding onlookers? She is a little bit lonely now.

Next phase!
I'm looking for extra right now,anyone interested:cool:

For non english speaker:
Extra (acting)
A background actor or extra is a performer in a film, television show, stage, musical, opera or ballet production, who appears in a nonspeaking or nonsinging (silent) capacity, usually in the background (for example, in an audience or busy street scene). War films and epic films often employ background actors in large numbers: some films have featured hundreds or even thousands of paid background actors as cast members (hence the term 'cast of thousands'). Likewise, grand opera can involve many background actors appearing in spectacular productions.

Good idea!
I did try to add images as 3d objects in the 3d scene before but failed :-(
I figured it out yesterday!

For those interested in the technical aspect:you create a plane, add the image as a "diffuse" surface then add an opacity map to the opacity surface, the opacity map should be in black and white:the black area will be transparent.
The "diffuse"image does not need to be a .png with a transparency background but should have a black background.

This is probably basic knowledge for real 3d artist,i still have a lot to learn!
Thankfully i'm retired and in good health
So i have a lot of time in front of me;)

Yes, well done! She communicates with her environment! Now her agony makes sense!

Been collaborating with Mp5stab on adding whip marks on my 3d model.
Here is 2 version of the same scene.
The second one is the one whipped by Mp5stab.
What do you think?
Creative advice are welcome:cool:

They look good and realistic. Also the nail wounds are well done.
Are they done in postwork or on the texture map?

For the nail wounds i use special "bloody"brushes found at DeviantArt in Gimp2.
That's on the texture map.
I then send the edited texture map to mp5stab for the finishing touch.
And then apply the texture map to the 3d model in Daz Studio.

At DeviantArt just search for "blood dripping brushes" to find all kind of interesting brushes;)

The same scene but with some blood on the cross: a simple add-on that seem to add a realistic touch to the scene.
Constructive criticism here... In the picture...

There would be blood on the cross but with the weathered wood you depict the blood would follow the grain on the wood on the stipe and on the crossbar would even run horizontally to follow the grain. Just a thought...

By the way, I preferred the 'sans whip marks' but that is just me...
