Can I add a further comment? I prefer the second, shorter story to the first one: I feel like it goes directly to the point, while maintaining always an higher level of tension, thrill, and intrigue.
Mind me, both stories are super-good and stunning, it's just that I prefer the side dish to the main dish.
This makes me wonder on many things, including my own stories.
Perhaps I should create more short vignettes rather than longer stories.
