It accepts my login it seems no error message.
Nothing changes doesn't look like I logged in anyways..
tried multiple times since yesterday
reload didn't help either.
Deleted all cf cookies, no luck//

Still can login with Chrome so it's not that worrying but it's inconvenient.
Anyone else expericning the same trouble?
Or found a solution allready?

Thanks...

I have the same problem. It's because of this. If you type https:// in front of the address in Firefox's address bar and press enter, the page reloads fine. But that is annoying each time. I haven't found a solution because I have been at work today, and will be until Wednesday. I shall watch this thread with interest .

Yeah, I also suspected that so I asked to check the protocol part. I don't have access to the forum setting so I can only guess. But as I see it, there is a hardcoded setting somewhere in the XenForo settings that specifies the old URL (which starts with http://).

So, it sometimes redirect users to the old site in certain situations, like when you access the site by typing just https://www.cruxforums.com/ (without the "xf/" part).

That was the problem I listed in the linked thread which can be only fixed by someone has an access.

Once one is on the site, logged in and using the https protocol, it seems to be fine. But clicking links in email notifications produces this error
By email notifications, you mean those two notification icons on the right side of my user name on top? It seems to work find on my end even when I open the pop up and click on the links. It's probably not important though, as whatever similar problems could all boil down to the above mentioned cause.

I had the same problem (except that i was able to log after 3 attempt) i was able fix it by creating a bookmark with the https:// protocol: https://www.cruxforums.com/xf/
I used to enter the site without a bookmark by typing "cruxforums.com" but that does not give you the https:// protocol so i now use a bookmark.

No. I keep up with the site by clicking 'watch' or posting on threads, and I get an email when there is a new post. There is a link in the email that takes me straight to new posts. That is directing to http, not https, I think. (It's hard to tell, because Firefox seems to ignore that part of the URL.)

Ah, I understand now. And it just strengthened my suspicion that it's been caused by some modified setting on the XenForo's side. Such a software usually ask the admin to enter the full domain name so that it can use it as a prefix to construct links such as those you see in your emails.

Also, many such softwares try to normalize the URL users see in their address bar, so it won't be like a user sees "cruxforums.com" while another one sees "www.cruxforums.com/" and so on. It usually just redirects to the canonical URL made from the value entered in the previously mentioned setting, hence the problem with redirecting back to the old HTTP URL.

I already brought this problem to ImageMaker's attention, so hopefully he could look into it when he has free time. Before that, we can rely on the workaround Barbaria mentioned above.

I have issues since Friday, to be refused to 'like' or click a thread or make a reply. I then get the massage 'no connection'. Sometimes the page is restored by refreshing, otherwise, I must close CF and log in again.

And damn, it happened when I tried to post this message!

It also has to be said that Firefox is becoming more touchy with each update. I can now no longer access ExHentai at all on FF, whereas Chrome is fine (though not in incognito mode, which makes me think it is something about the more aggresive way FF treats cookies).

It might be a different (and probably temporary) issue than the one discussed in this thread. The mention of SSL first happened on Saturday and it normally wouldn't cause a connection problem. Maybe there were temporary connection hiccups during the transition period to the CDN, I suppose.

I also have the same problem! Can no longer sign in through Firefox. I think since Friday night! On Saturday it worked again, once. But not since then.

I had that problem using Firefox too, but since I’ve been typing or pasting in:

https://www.cruxforums.com/xf/

Firefox brings up the site and there haven’t been any log in problems,

Just to report, two members have contacted me by PM reporting that, even using that new url, they still get rejected when they try to log-in from the home page. But if they click on an image or avatar, or on a link in an email alert, the login menu that pops up allows them into the Forums.

I had the same problem here, also starting on Friday. As far as I can see, the issue only arises in Firefox, when using an http link/bookmark in private windows. Changing my bookmark to https worked for me, or alternatively opening in a non-private window. Not clear to me whether this was caused by a Firefox update or a site update.

If one uses bookmarks in Firefox, one definitely needs to change now to https.
