Phlebas, do you know the origin of #10? I have seen several similar pics in the desert of some sort of a gathering. It looks like a lot of fun!

There is a "Burning Man" festival in the Nevada desert every year. You can read about it on the internet--it has always seemed a little wacky for me. I would suspect (but do not know) that #10 is from there. People regularly mount crosses in various states of undress at this event (as well as indulge in substances and other activities). The highlight is the immolation of a huge wooden man--hence the name.

There is a "Burning Man" festival (a huge wooden effigy of a man is ignited on the last day, hence the name) in the Nevada desert every year. People regularly mount crosses (which are apparently furnished by organizers or volunteers) in various states of undress. It's apparently somewhat like a New Age agricultural fair. It's hotter than hell, not everything is legal, and glitterati camp out in posher accommodations than the hoi poloi, causing some tension. You can read about it on the Internet. I have never been, and probably never will. I have read that the county sheriff tolerates a lot in the interest of the local economy.
#10 is probably from there. People do seem to have fun.

A lot masterpiece.
Sometimes I wonder about all the nude female crux photos that were almost certainly taken in the earlier days of photography, so few are known to us. It's an obvious theme.
