Hey, much more than a few! (I assume … not sure how my body--or any woman's body--would physiologically respond in all ways to being crucified. Males are almost always shown with erections. Would this really happen? Who knows. It's all fantasy at some point.)

I reflexively push up with my feet and feel the hot, searing bolts of agony shoot up my legs! Oh yeah! I'm sweating now! I'm sure I'd be glistening as much as the oiled-up gal in the video.

The artist's name is Chincy, this is one of his few crux pics, and you are correct, he’s a goddam gifted artist.

Yes, her expression of the unendurable pain that must be endured is perfect. I bit too much blood for so early in a crucifixion, though. Sloppy executioner work. He positioned the nails badly. Cut too many blood vessels.

Love the idea of the "first five minutes." The time that starts with the last hammer blow or when the cross is raised. The time of realization that you are really crucified, that this is how you will spend your remaining time on earth.

Yusseby excerpted that picture from Visual Notes on Roman Style Crucifixions, a well researched reminder of how ghastly real crucifixions were. That most of us who hang out here also find it screamingly erotic is a paradox I stopped worrying about years ago. ;)
