When I was a wee lad, perhaps 4 or 5 years, my mother used the bidet to shave her pubes right beside the toilet where I was doing my business. I guess that's when my fetish for hairless female genitalia was established. I remember the first time I saw porn in the late 80s - I was immediately repulsed by hairy women and could only look at the shaved pussies. Reading this thread reminds me again of the inherent difficulties involved in creating erotic art. As I mentioned above, a cleanly shaven mound is usually a turn-off for me. And it's apparent that there are many people who get repulsed by the sight of a hairy mound.

So, however hard I may try to envisage the most appealing scene I can think of, it would unavoidably make many people feel uncomfortable, and in many cases, I wouldn't even know that on what exact point in my work that would trigger such a reaction and from how many people.

I suppose it could be another reason why an author of erotica better try to create something to please oneself rather than trying to please everyone.
