Packed inside the late 1960s GMC bus are the naked inmates that have just escaped the reparation farm. The only person wearing clothing is the driver, Barbara Moore. She races the old bus east on US Highway 54 with the load escapees with the goal of reaching Interstate Highway 35 to drive north to a safe blue state.
There are a few problems involved with the break-out. First, the bus was designed to operate in an urban environment and has a hard time running over 60 miles per hour. Second, the passengers are all naked escaped inmates. Stopping for diesel fuel will be awkward. Third, after the escape an all-points bulletin has been put out about the break-out.
As the fifty-year-old bus ‘races’ across western Oklahoma and Kansas there is already a hot pursuit of the bus.

The bus gets to Wichita but the traffic is backed up on the entrance ramp to I-35. Barbara does her best to pass the line of cars. With little experience driving the GMC bus this doesn’t work out well.
