shannon,

I have always regarded your views and the accounts of your experiences as very valuable! I'd probably pester you with other questions from time to time, but I hate to impose too much.

So you think that a smooth sedile, with maybe an upturned end or knob is a viable possibility for a woman to use to pleasure herself? Still thinking about incorporating it as a part of something I've been writing, but its use is only speculation on my part. From what you wrote, I assume that you have been given sediles of some type before. Can you elaborate a little on that - the size, material, etc.?

And yes, I am back to civilization for about another week, after which I will disappear from the forums once again for a while. It's great to have the opportunity to post and participate.

Again, thanks for thinking that what i have to say is worth listening to, and i'm glad you will be in civilization for a little while longer. i don't mind your questions, so ask away and i'll try to do the best that i can to answer. Absolutely, i think a benign sedile would drive any "victim" crazy. Or a benign cornu such as a rubber dildo, absolutely. But as you know, my Master and i don't play. Usually i am kept without a sedile for as long as he feels i can continue. When i am given one, it is usually a wooden 4x4 that is in no way smoothed out and with one of the corners facing upward. i assure you that is an attention getter and goes a long way toward blurring that line between pain and pleasure. i have also been given a 2 x 4 cut with the top in a "sawtooth" pattern. That one is particularly nasty.

shannon,

I'm hoping to be in civilization permanently or at least long term in a few more months when I retire from my current job after 21 years in Saudi. Things after that are kind of unknown - I have a lot of offers already to go back to the Middle East, but there's no place like the USA. You appreciate freedoms more when you don't have them!

The thing that makes your insights so unique and valuable is your experience with extreme crucifixion. You answered one question I had not yet asked when you mentioned the sediles you were given. Were these short, so that it was optional for you to rest on them, or longer, so that you pretty much had no choice? I know you lose track of time during an extended crucifixion, but do you have any idea as to the length of time that passed before your Master made the decision to give you one? Was it placed high enough that your arms were not fully extended and all of your weight rested on it, or was it positioned lower, so that your arms were near to full extension? And along with that, did you experience breathing difficulty, even with the sedile?

Thanks - I'd like to contact you again by email after I get back to Saudi, if that's ok. I might also ask you to review some writing for me from a woman's point of view to see if I've got it right, if you're willing to do that.

That’s great that you will be returning to civilization permanently soon. i can only imagine how restrictive things are there. i guess like you said, you only appreciate freedoms when they are gone.

Again, i’m glad that you value my insights. As for the sediles that i have been given they all have been of sufficient length that there is no way to avoid them, other than to raise myself of course when and for how long i am able to do so.

As you say, i do lose track of time, but afterwards i am informed of what happened and when. It usually is at least a couple of hours before i am given a sedile, and the longest that i have gone without being given one is about four hours i am told. As for the position its about 6 inches or so, i guess, higher than the position i would be in with my arms fully extended but i still had the choice of resting all of my weight, or not. The ability to breathe is a lot easier, but still nowhere near the way it would be normally. i often have trouble expressing myself clearly; i hope i have been able to relate to you what you are looking for.

Please feel free to contact me when you wish, and i’d be happy to look over your writings.

shannon,

You express yourself very well, I think, and always have. And that info is what I was looking for. It's interesting that your arm position alone, without having all of your weight necessarily hanging from them, was enough to restrict your breathing.

Do you think that if the sediles had been shorter, you would have used the option to hang by your wrists rather than rest on them at least some of the time? They both sound like they were pretty uncomfortable, and surely became painful. When you raised yourself up off of them, do you think that was more because they were painful or because you wanted to be able to breathe more easily? When you raised yourself, did you stay raised for some length of time, i.e. minutes, during which maybe you recovered your breath or let the pain from the sedile subside, or just resettle yourself on the sedile in a better position?

i never really thought about it but you're right, a shorter sedile would give one more option, avoiding it altogether. And yes, i guess i would avail myself of all three options, raised position, "resting" on the sedile, and full down positon. Uncomfortable and painful are two very apt descriptions. Raising myself off the sedile certainly was to relieve the pain, but also to gulp air more easily and at least try to alleviate some of the muscle cramps and fatigue. The main reason though was to change position and alleviate pain. Earlier in a crucifixion I suppose i remained raised for a few minutes at a time, but as things progress, the "up" time shortens and the down position times increase. i'm always searcing for that elusive "better position". Again, i hope this is helpful to you.

Shannon,

Excellent insights and greatly appreciated. The scenario I'm writing at the moment is an addition to "The Serpent's Eye," the story of Sabina that I wrote a few years ago. I decided to add a bit more and do illustrations for it. One of the additional scenes goes like this:

In the original story, Sabina went to the Sessorium and watched the crucifixions of a couple of slaves. I decided that I wanted to add more to that, so I have her now going several times, as she is able to slip away. I don't detail all of those visits, but there is one in particular where there is a woman among the condemned. Sabina notices that she is deeply suntanned, lean and fit-looking. Her attitude is one of anger rather than fear, and the executioners treat her like a wild animal, a bit afraid to turn their backs on her because she might attack them.

Sabina finds out from a guard that this woman is a slave whose master was murdered, but the rest of the slaves in the household took poison rather than face crucifixion. She was away at the market at the time and obviously innocent, but under Roman law she must be crucified. Further, since the other eleven slaves are now dead and can't be crucified, the magistrate condemned her to be crucified for each one of them - twelve times in all. What Sabina is witnessing is the sixth time this woman has been brought up to the Sessorium and roped to a cross where she will hang until the executioners judge that she is near death. Then they will take her down, carry her back to the ergastulum, and nurse her back to health so they can do it all again. The twelfth time, they will nail her to her cross and allow her to suffer until she dies.

Now, the question is, how long would it take for a person to recover from days on the cross? From your experience with extreme crucifixions - your own and those of others - how long before the sore muscles and soreness in other places is substantially gone and you'd consider that you're back to normal? Not that any of us here are "normal" with respect to most people! :)

That’s a fascinating concept for a story and i’d like to read the finished product. Unfortunately, i don’t have an iota of writing talent, but i also have an idea floating around in my head. Its about a group of people studying crucifixion much the way you have but they get tired of speculating, they want to KNOW. Somehow (you need to really stretch your imagination here) they manage to send one of their members back in time to ancient Rome to find out what they all want to know. Unfortunately, he or she runs afoul of the powers that be and winds up on the cross him or herself. i wonder if anyone has ever tackled that scenario.
To your question, for a crucifixion with only ropes, (please keep in mind that I never have spent days on the cross) i would say it would take at least a week for the “victim” to be back to normal and ready for more. Also there never has been such a rush in my experience so i’m not positive, but that’s my feeling. i keep myself very fit physically just as my sister did, to enable me to push and extend my limits. If it were up to me, i’d probably want at least two weeks or so to be back to where i would want to be physically.
Crucifixion with nails is a whole different story, but you’re not asking that, your victim will be crucified with nails, only the final time.

FYI, I also have a story in an early stage of work that is similar to the concept you mentioned. That one involves something like time travel, but actually only a mind link between a person in the future and one in ancient times who is crucified. Through the link, the future person experiences all of the suffering, right up to the ancient person's death, when the link is broken. Further, the experience in all of its sensory detail is recorded, and can be played back directly into the minds of others who can also experience it all. That's sort of a quick summary, but there is much more to it than that. That one is still some time away from coming to light, but we'll see.

Regarding the length of time between crucifixions with ropes, and considering that I'm talking about a crucifixion almost to death each time, perhaps a month to recover would be more realistic. I'll pass the final draft by you and you can let me know what you think.

Considering you are talking about a crucifixion to near death, i guess a month would be more realistic. i was speculating and obviously not talking from experience. That means your victim will be suffering for a full year, and that timeframe adds to your scenario. i'm looking forward to seeing the final work.

A year is about what it would come out to - lucky she wasn't part of a much larger household of slaves! :-o Still thinking about how to spin this, and she's not a main character, just a story component.

During my crucifixon I had a small orgasm but I think it was because I was naked infront of everyone.

Only a small orgasm? That does seem a bit unfair. ;)

Unless you have had orgasms on any other occasion when you were naked in front of clothed onlookers, it seems more likely that your reaction was due to the pain (endorphin rush?) and/or muscular exertions involved.

You maybe right because at one point during my crucifixon my arms started to cramp,I think I had my one orgasm shortly afterward.
