3 Oh yes, well-known examples mentioned in credible classical sources include female Jewish rebels and followers of Spartacus.
About arena and connexed themes

After the great fire of Rome under Nero, Christian men and women were burnt alive on the cross (known although generally exagerated).
Yesterday at night, very interessant TV program about Nero. Franco-German channel 'arte'. Try the link. If you don't have access to it but I can try to send it

Nero never lost popularity with the ordinary people of Rome, the plebs and freedmen.
He was an outsider, rich, but only remotely linked to the Augustan dynasty,
who just antagonised the 'establishment', the intellectuals,
and unpopular ethnic and religious minorities.

Sounds familiar? ;)

No, because the person you are doubtless referring to isn't that popular, having lost the popular vote by 1.6 million at the latest count.

Seen it. Wasn't very impressed as it was a case of blink and you missed it. Would've preferred to have seen more of the victims with a slow camera panning shot.

Yes, you have to keep pausing to see what's going on,
and the quality of all the copies I've found on YouTube is poor,
I suspect some have been scissored,
the stills Michele's posted are much better really.

I think it has been scissored ... I have seen much longer crucifixion scenes than these
