It's hard for me to provide advice without knowing something about your hardware.


1) With that premise, to reduce render times - as other have already said - you have to delete (or make invisible to the camera) everything that is not visible in the frame, for example ceilings or walls if you are rendering an indoor scene. Also, make invisible the limbs that are covered with clothing (ex. men's trousers) and shoes: ith helps to lower the resources needed to elaborate textures.

2) It's feasible, provided that you want to learn how to use blender's rendering engine(s): DAZ to Blender bridge.

3) Again, it depends on your hardware. Ah: always always, always keep your video card's drivers updated.

I don't understand you a little ... What do you mean by that eye? Do you have a sample, please?
If I'm understanding this correctly, when you open the SCENE tab on the right-hand side panel (assuming default settings), everything in the scene has a little eye icon next to it. Clicking any of these will change the icon to a closed eye meaning that item will not be rendered. This is really useful when you build a large scene but your viewport is zoomed in on just part of it. (one of the golden rules of cgi is never to render anything that isn't going to be visible in the finished image (for example, objects that are hidden behind something else, or just out of frame. This also allows you to effectively crop your scene efficiently

Cool, let me know. Two things I forgot to mention: reflective surfaces can "eat" a lot of resources, so you may want to reduce or eliminate them. A value you can play with in the render settings is optimization --> max path length, which is set to -1 by default. Try to put it to 5/6: This way you will set to that value the number of bounces a photon does on a surface before "dying". Plus you can go to Progressive Rendering --> Update time and set the value to 120, 180 or more. This way the image in the view port will be updated every 2 or 3 minutes instead than the default 5 seconds, which steals a lot of resources from the engine.
 
I don't understand you a little ... What do you mean by that eye? Do you have a sample, please?
Here is a screenshot: i's in your scene tab to the right of your view port. Everything with a closed eye next to it will not be loaded into RAM.

I use this shader system as i allows me to use the diffuse maps for everything, except the normal maps. That way I don't have separate bump maps or SSS maps and stuff... a serious memory saver :) Usually I only have one male texture set and one female texture set in my scenes regardless of how many people there are. using the difuse overlay setting, you can tweek the skintone and make it look like it's a different texture :) (though it is not )

Agreed. In fact it's the texture maps that eat up most of the RAM with this sort of thing - the actual figure geometry is often small by comparison

yeah and my pc has these parameters ...

Windows 11 Pro version
Version 21H2


Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
RAM 32.0 GB
graphic cart gtx 3060
Jesus Christ that's a high spec system!

My 3D system is this;
AMD A6-7400K 3.5GHz
RAM: 10Gb
GFX: nVidia GeForce GTX 550Ti 1Gb
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1


My main PC (the one I'm writing this on) is this;
AMD FX6300 3.7GHz
RAM 8Gb DDR3
Onboard GFX
Linux Mint 20 64-bit
 
And yes I have a strong pc, but the problem is probably right in daz3d ... I just can't do a complete render of a bigger scene with a background and at least two characters, Every time daz3d fails ... And it annoys me! I've tried various settings, etc., and nothing works ... Either the error either during the render, or daz3d shuts down completely and it sucks! Any one?

Sounds like a memory problem to me (or maybe thegfx card is pulling too much power or something) :(

Have you tried reinstalling DAZ again?

Could indeed also be a memory problem or power problem like darkprincess69 said..
There is memory tesst programs maybe get a reialble one somewhere and run it.
Graphic cards can be quit power hungry too and frick up shit if you try to render big scenes.
With my previous computer I found lighter scenes are more easily rendered by the graphics card then darker ones.

yes I reinstalled daz3d here, and I honestly have no idea where j error ...

but probably right in Gpu ... because I hear how the graphics work and when it goes to max, it sounds pretty! and I suspect there's a temperature fuse that turns it off ...

I didn't have that much performance on the old PC, but I had top cooling ...

Inside Daz Studio, there is a help menu. Click that and see what the Log says. (Help < Troubleshooting < View Log file). Your log file should have a log of Daz Studio shutting down on a render. By the way when you render: what are your render settings? Are you doing an Iray Render?

You can check the advanced panel in the render setting tab:make sure that the CPU fallback option is on also if you select CPU and Cuda,the CPU and the GPU will work in tandem to render the scene.

yes i know ... I tried to render here only through graphics, but it's better if both (cpu and gpu)

I have now found that using a script to reduce textures is equivalent to a faster render, but poorer texture quality ...

and when I tried to compare it in practice (I was surprised here)

and then there's one more thing ... somehow I don't see the render (it's invisible, the screen is blank) but the render is running ....
it does it when I use a script, I reduce the textures, and then I want to change something so I just can't and I have to reload it all ...
