I have self-cruxed and found it extremly sexually arousing. Could only managed to hang for 30 min max, but it was incredible! (No foot rest -- feet flat against upright.) Having an orgasm while hanging was, well, it's hard (no pun, really) to describe. However, I find it difficult to believe a male actually crucified -- nails or not -- would find it sexually arousing. She's been nailed to a cross, perhaps scourged also. Running a spear through her breast does not seem to be so bad in context. You would almost expect such tortures of those already on the cross. I've seen images posted of women being whipped while hanging. A horribly painful death made even more so. I'm sure a male would have some horrible things done to his defenseless balls.

The blase attitude is meant to show her detachment from the world and worldly things. However, I'm sure the real person screamed plenty during her mutilation, despite her willingness to be a martyr.

It's also one of the inherrent "problems" between males and females that both boys and girls are not told how to handle this.
Being center point of attention needn't be negative... as appreciation the beauty of a woman is possible without danger to step on one's own tongue ;)
