Thanks much for the compliment! You know I love hairy women.Must say you've grown better every time you post something IMHO
Love the hairy armpits!
I still think I'm not very good at 3d art. But I feel proud that I've been learning things and improving my skills pretty fast. This is how my characters looked two months ago:
I've certainly learned a lot of things since then, and I'll try to keep improving them.
Thanks for the advice. In my opinion, however, I think the blood is already shiny and transparent enough except for the part on the cross, which was intentional as I wanted to make it look like it was absorbed in the surface and partly dried up.2 tips
As for the blood it's liquid so make it a bit more shiny, less opaque and you are prolly good to go
For the hair.. More highlights, less shiny to get a more dirt/dusty hair look.
This is how it looks like now in close up:
(Now you know why I've always blurred that part quite heavily I need to work on the details later.)
As you can see how the underlying surface looks through the blood, it's quite transparent already. If I drop the opacity further, I believe it will probably just change to pink or orange in colour. And from the way light refects off its surface, I'd say it already has proper roughness value. A bigger problem I see is that it looks like the skin itself was swelled at the edges. I think I can fix that part by applying a level filter to the roughness channel to make the area smaller. I'll try that and see if it makes it look more real.
All in all, I think it's just that you can't make things like blood stream look real by painting over the skin. If I had sufficient time, I'd have probably modelled the stream using a meatball mesh to get things like the refraction effect. But I created this scene mainly to be used as a test environment in which I can work on the skin details. So, other WIP areas like the hands have higher priorities for me, as I won't probably use that blood texture in other scenes in future.
As to the hairs, I'm still trying to understand how the system works. There are quite many parameters which could affect the glossiness of hair strands, so I'm trying to figure out by trial and errors.
I actually want to make it more shiny, however, because I'd like to give it an oily, greasy feel, when the hairs left unwashed for long. I just don't know how to do it properly yet
