Site Slow - Site down - Technical Problems

Go to CruxDreams.com
It might be useful to know whether other sites served by XenForo are experiencing similar outages -
if it happens again, maybe anyone who knows of another XF site could check and tell us.

Why wasn't the server made Barb-safe?
Image Maker is looking into the question. It is evidently the case that the server's been cutting us off for no obvious reason. Hopefully XenForo will attend to the problem and put things right soon.

I don't know if XenForo knew anything about it.

Cruxforums isn't actually hosted on a machine owned and administered by XenForo Ltd.
CF just uses the forum software licensed from them.
That means if something is defective in the forum code as such (a security vulnerability etc.) an update to a new release of the software, as soon as it's released, might be the solution.

Xenforo will have nothing to do though with any issues such as network outages, server overload, filesystem failures etc.

Yes, thanks for clarifying that point Malins. But I don't think IM has direct communication with whoever runs the server, that has to go via XF.

A brief interruption about 20:00 GMT this evening. As Barb has said, our site owner, service provider and - cruci(fixion)ally - the server host are aware now that we're having these problems, they've confirmed that it is an issue at the server, and are working to diagnose why it's happening. and how to stop it - hopefully soon!

Not sure if it's relevant, but there's been a major fire at a data centre in Strasbourg, and there is evidence that it's been causing a lot of issues for internet services in Eastern Europe and Russia, including Google and Youtube outages.

Probably not the source of our issues, as this site has been slow to open pages and post articles and likes for a some time now

And today the Kremlin managed to crash its own site temporarily, while launching a clumsy attack against Twitter!

But IM is in contact with our server host, they've made some adjustments to our bit of the works and are monitoring what's happening. I understand there was another short stoppage a few hours ago, so there's still work to be done.
