Site Slow - Site down - Technical Problems

I'm having the same problem here. Site was offline for well over 24 hours - just kept getting the "software is being updated" message all the time - started friday evening and only cleared lunchtime today (sunday). Something massive has obviously gone wrong as there are missing posts, private messages, problems opening photos, and to make matters worse, loads of threads seem to have been moved around so now I'm struggling to find anything
Why is it that every time there's an update, something ends up getting broken ?
This was more than an update. It was an attempt to reorganize the site. It apparently ran into problems.I'm having the same problem here. Here is the solution to all your woes about the site going down for a time or being slow:
Be patient.
Oh god I can't access my favorite porn forum exactly when I want! This is preposterous!
lol No seriously though, running this website can't be easy, but their are a team of dedicated people who work on these problems the minute they happen. When the site goes down, give it a bit and it will come back.

Agreed. We all love to vent in the form of a mini rant when things go wrong but I think we all appreciate that maintaining a busy website can be a challenge, though in this particular case it does seem to have been largely self-inflicted by trying to rearrange the structure of the forum. Given that many people (including myself) often link to other forum articles within our posts, it necessarily follows that any degree of moving posts around is clearly going to break such links and the whole thing will just come tumbling downYeah, be patient.

I do feel sorry for IM though as he embarked on this procedure with the best of intentions but unfortunately, the perversity of nature always dictates that when you attempt to fix something that isn't actually broken in the first place, disaster is waiting just around the corner. Thankfully the forum was fully backed up - had that not been the case, it might have been a very long time (or maybe never) before it came back online. As it was it took almost two whole days for me to regain my access and even then lots of recent posts are still missing (presumably those that were posted after the last backup was made - certainly some stuff that I posted last thursday afternoon appears not to have been backed up and so I was forced to repost them this afternoon)
