There is a "Burning Man" festival (a huge wooden effigy of a man is ignited on the last day, hence the name) in the Nevada desert every year. People regularly mount crosses (which are apparently furnished by organizers or volunteers) in various states of undress. It's apparently somewhat like a New Age agricultural fair. It's hotter than hell, not everything is legal, and glitterati camp out in posher accommodations than the hoi poloi, causing some tension. You can read about it on the Internet. I have never been, and probably never will. I have read that the county sheriff tolerates a lot in the interest of the local economy.
#10 is probably from there. People do seem to have fun.

Good to see that it has been lively in here this week.
Here's my weekend contribution

Technically highly accomplished, as you say SJ. Great sense of scale and lighting, tense musculature and stoic expressions - that's alienarea
This happens when you enter enemy territory, searching for water,

Or for food,

This is the punishment of the guards who failed to notice them.

The punishment for tourists leaving the indicated trail on a jungle hiking (read the fine print about 'locall rules and habits).

And this is what will happen to tourists throwing litter into the Grand Canyon (hey! Trump never said he would make this rule!).

I did not throw litter in the Grand Canyon any more than I caused the Great Crash of the Summer of 2013!

Is there anything else you'd like to confess to declare you've never done,
before they even think of accusing you of it? :p

That first one you posted is the one I stitched together from other pics posted on that thread. I'd love to see better, more detailed ones, like your 1e304113113f50db7fdff824dd724b8b-jpg
A lot masterpiece.
Sometimes I wonder about all the nude female crux photos that were almost certainly taken in the earlier days of photography, so few are known to us. It's an obvious theme.
Sometimes we just have to imagine those photos ourselves

Makes you think, Phlebas.

I wonder if there was an early version of Cruxforums where your Grandad and Grandad swapped stories and photos courtesy of the good old Royal Mail?

Absolutely. None have come down to me though, sadly :(

Hang on, what are these in this old box with "From Wragg" on the lid?

The other possibility are artist's studies for crux paintings, but these tend to be male

That's an excellent image Phlebas, thank you.
I do find panoramic views and sepia tone very inspiring, although they do create rather large files. These two are 50% reductions for thumbnails. Full size elsewhere in the Forum I think, and on http://bobnearled.deviantart.com/
