For those who don't know, BBC Radio 4 broadcasts a 15 minute shipping forecast at 12:45am every day. Insomniacs know it well.

Back in those days, radio stations broadcasted lots of 'services', information that is now available on internet, I suppose.I can recall growing up with the shipping forecast. It seems strange as not a particularly sea faring rodent.
