Her frozen gaze and limp body. And only the fists are clenched. She has already reached a state in which she can no longer resist and generally somehow react to what is happening. And a pile of coins right in front of her face. I wonder if she's looking at these coins or is she already past them? It looks very realistic and therefore a little scary. Powerful image!

Indeed. I think that for her to be a prequel to GABRIELLA FLAGELLA UNTIL DEATH, she should present herself trying to free herself from the Roman paws; Well, she was a fighting barbarian princess. Later the Romans would tame her by beating her and finally raping her, to link with the story of her flogging until her death.

It's lovely. I've always liked images where a woman sees another woman being tortured or executed and realizes that she will do the same very soon. This gives it extra spiciness.

Well, actually this is not a prequel to "Gabriella flogged to death".

This set was intended to illustrate the story of the princess Gabriella, whose queendom was invaded by the Romans. In the story Gabriella decided to betray her people, go and seduce the Roman commander to save her life and keep on happily reigning. Unfortunately for her, her plan does not succeed, and she is given to the soldiers. At first, she does not resist, since she does not even image what is going to happen to her.

The story was interrupted, and remained uncomplete. Nevertheless, the set of renders that Jucundus made for it are breath-taking, indeed! :)

Also, I am trying to convince Juc to complete the set about "Gabriella flogged to death", since there are a few scenes that are still missing. I think that having it completed, and have the story publishede again, with such illustrations, would be really great. Help me!!! :)

I think it would be interesting to make these stories, so to speak, a trilogy. In the first part, this girl is raped. In the second part, she is subjected to a flogging. And in the third part they crucify her. The first and second parts are already there. It remains only to plot them together with some brief textual background. And make the final third part. I think it would be nice.
But of course this is just my suggestion. I know that Jucundus works primarily with single images, and the kind of work that I have just described can be too complicated and time consuming.

i like how her hands are not tied , she keeps them behind in a state of fear and respect

Fewer pictures allows for more imagination from the viewer.
Allowing them to mould the scenes into their own fantasy
Different angles and light, with many variants discarded is exactly what a professional photographer would have done if they were present at such events
