When you are in a war - no matter if declared or undeclared - and you start negotiations about peace with the enemy (e.g. Taliban) and you tell this enemy without really being forced to do so, that you will withdraw from the battlefield in some months or next year, why are you wondering that there is no progress for you in these negotiations?
What do you expect the enemy to do when you take every military risk from this enemy?

And now guess, who did this for the first time in the years before?

And now guess, how and why the successor followed this plan?

And now see in worldwide news from India today, what the world is seeing when you make such a mistake like you never had any war before in your history:

At least we Europeans in our news cannot believe now and especially today what Trump AND Biden have done together with their wishful-thinking-negotiations with the Taliban to our Afghan allies and especially to the women and girls of Afghanistan!

The pictures to come from Afghanistan could be worse in the coming days and weeks than those from Saigon in 1975 because how will you operate from such an airport with desperate people without the help of your worst enemy?

Please read our rules again @Silent_Water, @Baracus and @Praefectus Praetorio . For my taste do the last messages touch the border of this rule:
Policy on political and other irrelevant posts

Arguments about politics and other irrelevant topics have no place on this site, they will just drive people away, so they will be deleted.

Discussion of politicians or other well-known people in the context of this site could be perceived as threatening and attract the kind of attention we do not want.

Please stop it and use other places in the web for these topics. Thank you!

This rule too:
Policies on the portrayal of Crucifixion, other forms of Execution, Torture or ill-treatment, BDSM, and hard-core sadistic pornography.
...
Examples of content that is not wanted and will not be allowed include:
...
 photos or videos of real people dying or dead.
(falling people from airplanes)

OK, I will try to control myself better but I would like to add that reality can sometimes become worse than our worst fantasies here and that I did not start the discussion but my feelings are sometimes a bit "overflowing" because of the reality we all can see on TV in our news today.
Sorry!
Yes, I understand that well. But let us hold free this place from the bad real world.

Mhm, isn't it often really difficult to hold this place free from the bad real world? ;)
Because I never really tried to separate my fantasies from this "bad real world". In fact, my worst fantasies here are all inspired from this bad real world -> Middle Ages, real modern dictatorships, new real modern dictatorships with some nice fantasy ideas from the Middle Ages?
:eek::facepalm:

Ok.fair enough. My bad. Sorry, Mea Culpa. :(

I think, "we Westerners" can all find a common ground in this picture which was used as a stick-on by the German weekly "Die Zeit" for their readers in order to feel more responsible for disabled persons in need of help - and not only for them.

The text means:

"The fight against stupidity has only just begun."

Well I should have held my peace too; apologies to all :oops: I’m not here for politics! :doh:

Oh, come on, don't be such a "Weichei"! ;)
You were only asking a question I did not even remark before until you just apologized and you were not even criticized before as far as I see!
This would be regarded in Germany as an "un-German" behaviour of someone who only wants to attract attention for being extremely polite or a "softie"! :rolleyes:

You remind me of a story which I once read in a German book about "anecdotes" from famous persons:

The Queen once was visited in the early 1960's by a new African president from the Commonwealth and during this state visit she was driving with him in her "Landauer" - coach when one of the horses made a digestive noise. She automatically apologized for this noise and the African president told her:
"If you had not just apologized, I would have thought it was the horse ... "
:rolleyes::facepalm:

Not at all, but my contribution could have led to an escalation which would have been regrettable. So take your “weichei” and stuff it where the sun don’t shine :roto2qtemeto:

Got some friends that I can go to workin' for"
