Sorry Willowfall but that is incorrect. We did not shut Crux down, Yahoo deleted it.
The old Crux group was under threat in 2005 as Yahoo was deleting adult groups left right and centre. This group (Forums) was founded around this time by a group of Crux members and ex members (Huffkens) in partnership with CruxDreams.
Crux Foundation was founded as a direct result of the Crux group being shut down by Yahoo, which was in early 2005. On 5th April 2005 Jeddak sent the following email to all members of the now defunct Crux group:
As you are aware by now, our Crux group was deleted by Yahoo a few weeks ago. In view of the problems many others have experienced with Yahoo deleting their groups repeatedly, the Crux moderators have decided to set up a new group on our own server.
We are working on setting up the new group now. In order to maintain contact with our former members, we decided to set up a temporary Yahoo group named CrossPurposes which you are invited to join. This temporary group has two purposes:
When the new Crux group is created, members of CrossPurposes will be migrated to membership in Crux automatically.
CrossPurposes still exists, somehow, although it is no longer used.

Group Description
This group was created only as a temporary place for the former members of the Yahoo Crux group to receive news and information regarding the creation of our new group.
The old Yahoo Crux group has now moved to http://www.cruxfoundation.com.
Crux Foundation is the linear successor to Crux, founded by it's moderator group. I was one, as was Jeddak, and Master of Nails, and Maha Shiva, all of whom have been members of this group too, along with others who are no longer with us for various reasons.
Having said all that, there is no doubt that the Crux Forums is now the most vibrant of online crux groups, and has been for quite some time.
The history is important, because it reminds us that we
were forced off Yahoo in those days, we must always be wary of corporate "morality".
Some of this history is still visible in the inbox of my Yahoo email account, which I have had for 20 years now. I don't know how much longer it will stay there though, as storm clouds are once again gathering around Yahoo in the form of it's owner, Verizon and their shrinking value! Does anyone know a good way to bulk export from Yahoo mail?
